Newsletter #5 Meeting in Finland

Sastamala Community College SCC had the pleasure to host the 5th and final meeting of the Happy project on June 16th -17th, 2015. A total of 31 participants from all but one partner country took part in this meeting along with the college staff and some adult learners who had participated in the project work and activities during the past two years.

This meeting had two main objectives; to add to the best practices of learning to be happy among the partnership and start writing the final report. During the meeting the partners presented the final national contents of the project and brainstormed the prospects of a follow-up project. The meeting agenda was designed to enable the partners to get a hands-on experience on how SCC had followed through their two work packages (modules): Playing and Having Fun & Sports. Our guests did some hiking in Pirunvuori - Devil’s Mountain, made traditional birch whisks for sauna, followed by swimming in the lake and also participated in a church boat rowing outdoor activity.

All these activities took place in the countryside and the small town of Sastamala presenting the consortium the SCC operating environment and working conditions.

Some of our visitors commented the meeting in their feedback as follows: “My expectations for the meeting were more than fulfilled!

Thank you for arranging our visit to Sastamala so efficiently. The conference part turned all out to be successful again (as expected). But especially all the outdoor activities contributed to further strengthen our team spirit!” “[I learned] to know people from all over Europe, listening, talking & learning from each other and getting an idea about living in Finland by experience & watching what makes people HAPPY!”
