Playing, Having FunPlaying, Having Fun

What I like about playing

We asked the learners what they like about playing.

This is what they noted down:

- Playing cards, for example "Doppelkopf" is a good exercise for the brain.

- You have to be very concentrated to remember which cards were already played and which are still free.

- When we played the game "absolutly Englisch" it was a good way to repeat vocabulary or to learn some new words.

- We always have a lot of fun, because you sometimes have to do funny things, for example singing a song or so... and it trains the general knowledge.

- In my opinion every game offers something special where we can learn from or refresh our knowledge with.

- Playing games is not only an amusement but instructive. Instructive for the brain, for general knowledge, for companionableness, for how to handle money ( for example " MONOPOLY"). For every kind of age there are special sorts of games......

- Unfortunately the kids nowadays learn more to play electronic games than usaul board games.

- The negative site is, that they often play alone. Playing games - Having fun! I like playing games because it is nice to meet other people. It was very easy to get to know the other people in this “HAPPY game course”.

- When I'm playing games I have a lot of fun and I often laugh. I can forget my daily work and commitment. I play games every day: games like “Memory” to train my brain and for fun. I also play “Pentrix”, a game like “Tetris” and “Shooting Balls”.

- Playing these games is an award after the daily work and after playing I am really relaxed. I took this course as a chance to start playing again. We always played games when I was a child. But somewhere between my childhood and adulthood I stopped playing. And now I rediscovered how much fun playing means to me. While I’m playing I can forget about my work which often is very stress. And it’s nice to get to know new people in a relaxed atmosphere. We all have the same aim, playing and having fun :-). I like playing for socializing reasons. Socialising is very important for me. It connects me with other people. I enjoy being with others, laughing and having fun together.

- I have always played. I think it will also help me train my brain and thus stay mentally healthy – hopefully. When I was a child I played the typical games we had then, for example Monopoly, Ludo, all kind of board games and of course outside in the wood or in the street. And I played with my own children, but now that they are adolescents I nearly never play anymore. So it’s a great chance to take up playing games again.

- I like playing games in connection with learning English. What I like about it is that we have fun together, that I got to know other people, that I can train my brain by learning, or better, brushing up my English. I’m always looking forward to these game evenings!
