Newsletter #4 Meeting in Sweden

The Meeting in Södertälje was hosted by Aktiva Södertälje

Our organization works mostly with people from other cultures by helping them to learn how to do to feel better. In june 2013, we started an international project called ”Learning to be happy” which is a project in Europe (Grundtvig-programme). It is a cooperation between 9 organizations from 9 European countries: Germany, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, and Turkey. The main purpose was how to learn from each other by sharing and cooperate during mobilities in 5 of the 9 countries.

Participating Organizations besides the hostunion Aktiva Södertälje was: Volkshochschule Lingen, Germany, EUROPEAN LEARNING CENTRE, Spain, Sastamalan Opisto, Finland , Frauenberufszentrum, Austria , LA COUPOLE, Belgium, ARCHIVIO DELLA MEMORIA, Rome, Italy, Faaborg Museum for Fynsk Malerkunst, Denmark.

The project group came to Södertälje on Monday the 2nd February and, we welcomed them in one of Södertäljes special restaurants that makes kebab by name “Tälje Kebab”. There were people from every organization except Turkey that couldn´t manage to join the conference in Sweden. It was a happy start even though it was a typical cold Swedish evening in February with a lot of snow. After eating and nice talking, we helped them find back to the Spa Hotel Scandic Skogshöjd to rest and prepare for the conference next morning.

The last day was about upcoming activities and then we took a small “walk & talk” to Tom Tit´s Science Center where we enjoyed a typical Swedish lunch-buffe. Finally we made our last activity in the conference which was to travel to the capital of Sweden, Stockholm, which is approximately one hour far away by train. Then we went on a guiding tour in Gamla Stan (the old city) and finally we spend our last evening with dinner in a nice restaurant in Stockholm.
